Description

Drive through the mountain ranges north of Tuxtla Gutierrez and (hopefully) enjoy some views of the Canyon and dam reservoir.
This was supposed to be a little mountain adventure from our hotel in Tuxtla Gutierrez around Parque Nacional Canon del Sumidero to the CFE Hydro dam on the other end. Unfortunately due to bad weather we couldn’t go. The GPX track is generated.

I imagine this is a scenic ride as you come out of the CFE built tunnel crossing the mountains with viewpoints along the way.
Ride down to the dam and pass the military checkpoints along the way to stand on (or very near) the hydro dam that is an important landmark for the region in terms of electricity.
